Neil Stuart


Neil served for many years as a partner and practice leader in the Canadian health care consulting practices of Price Waterhouse, PricewaterhouseCoopers and then IBM. Since retiring from IBM, much of his time has been devoted to volunteer roles in the health sector, though he does still take on the occasional consulting assignment. 

He is an active board member of Patients Canada (a founding member and director), Health Standards Organization and he is also vice-chair of the Ontario Ministry of Health’s Task Force on Environmental Health. He recently served on the boards of Cancer Care Ontario (board chair), VON Canada (board chair), The Change Foundation, the Ontario Hospital Association and Toronto East General Hospital (board chair). 

Neil taught for several years in the University of Ottawa's Masters of Health Administration program and he currently has an adjunct appointment at the University of Toronto in its Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation. 

He received his PhD in health policy from Brandeis University where he was a fellow in the University's Health Policy Center. He previously graduated from Carleton University and the University of Nottingham. Before entering university, Neil worked for a year as a volunteer on a World Health Organization anti-malaria program in the West Pacific.
