- There is a significantly better quality of life for people affected by brain conditions across the life course, and they can live to their full individual potential supported by equitable access to appropriate care and supports;
- There is better awareness of brain conditions within a more inclusive and welcoming society;
- Governments, working in partnership with the brain community, provide increased research dollars dedicated to answering critical questions about brain conditions including causes, treatments and cures;
- Governments at all levels make the brain a social, health and economic priority and develop integrated strategies to help people affected by brain conditions live well.
The goals of the NHCC and ONF align on a number of fronts; particularly, supporting better access to care for people affected by brain injury. ONF CEO, Kent Bassett-Spiers is a member of the NHCC and brings an acquired brain injury lens to the table; ONF continues to collaborate with the coalition to support the many Canadians affected by brain conditions.
NeuroMatters features one of our partners in each issue. ONF is proud to work with a number of partners to determine the key causes of neurotrauma and support the development of interventions and policies that make a difference in the lives of those with spinal cord and acquired brain injuries.
